Emma and Alex have created a magical destination at Cwm Connell, with Django and Elva as perfect dog hosts. The cottages are so thoughtfully designed with beautiful interiors. The dogs live the high life with a paddock overlooking one of the best ocean sunset views you will have seen. From your doorstep, you can venture down a beautiful footpath along a river and through an enchanting garden their neighbour has made a sanctuary for wildlife and plants, to Ceibwr Bay and the coastal path. We love visiting as find different gems of walks each time, sandy bays, coastal walks and ocean swims with seals and dolphins around. The food scene in neighbouring towns of Cardigan and Newport is impressive. In the industry we were in, we were always looking for destinations for retreats with a communal space, great accommodation and in a magical spot. I think Cwm Connell currently rates number one for what they offer, and would recommend to anyone looking for a retreat venue to do a recce asap.

A Magical Destination | November, 2024

A delightful, well appointed cottage in a peaceful location, with coast and country walks from the door. We enjoyed the woodland walk to Ceibwr Bay and a small section of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. A little further afield are beautiful sandy beaches, interesting estuaries, pretty villages and the dramatic Preseli Hills.

Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful.  The cottage is very comfortable, beautifully decorated and well equipped. We particularly liked the enclosed decking terrace for al fresco morning coffee. Everything is very dog friendly. Our dog loved running and sniffing in the large enclosed paddock.

With several cottages on site and flexible, accommodating hosts it’s also ideal for wider family / friends to holiday together. Certainly something we’d like to do in the future.

We had three generations in four of the Cwm Connell cottages, and also took the barn. It was all terrific – the cottages are extremely well set up and presented, and very comfortable. Alex and Emma were brilliant hosts – all possible requirements were looked after with charm and grace!

A Great Family Party | November, 2024

We loved staying at Cwm Connell Cottages – Emma & Alex are excellent hosts and provide all the details for a lovely, quiet stay amongst the incredible Pembrokeshire Coast. Our cottage was perfect for our family – our daughter loved the cozy nooks for reading and we could all relax by the fire. We took long walks right outside our door that led us through the woods and right down to the sea. Emma gave us walking directions and suggestions – and we loved that we were able to follow all the details and end up in the most magical of places. This is truly a special place and we are grateful we could experience this gem. Thank you!

We had a wonderful couple of nights at Cwm Connell. We stayed in Fron Haul. A beautful cottage which had been meticulously renovated. Everything was top quality – even the kitchen drainer! The use of welsh materials was a lovely touch, such as the Welsh blankets. Spotlessly clean and everything you would need at hand. Even fresh milk, coffee and Welsh cakes 🙂 It’s a great location, within walking distance to the bay and a 10-15 minute drive to Poppit Sands. Ideal for dogs, with a paddock for the dogs to run around in – which has views of the coast. It was late June and even though it should have been mid-summer heatwve weather it was actually quite chilly in the evenings, which to our delight meant we could enjoy the hot tub and woodburner! Emma and Alex were so accommodating, friendly and welcoming. We will be back….very soon. Thank you

It was our second visit to wonderful Cwm Connell Cottages and everything was as perfect as we remembered. Our cottage was beautifully set up for us. The Spring flowers from the garden and fields, the delicious local apple juice and honey and bread to enjoy while settling in, the anticipation of the log fire in the evening. Heaven. And then the walks and swimming on that bracingly beautiful coast, with the views to eternity. Great local restaurants and places to visit. If you are looking for a transforming holiday experience that comes from being incredibly comfortable, in step with nature and in a landscape that touches at the soul you will find this at Alex and Emma’s Cwm Connell Cottages.

A hidden gem, the most amazing cottages ❤️.  We stayed as a large family in 2 separate cottages and we were all amazed at how beautiful they were, they have been finished to such a high standard and the little touches such as fresh bread, flowers, local coffee and butters, were very thoughtful. We had 5 dogs between us and they were catered for as much as we were with their dog tags, treats and towels and not forgetting the brilliant dog paddock, which by the way has the most amazing view of the sea. The owners were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The walks are amazing and you can walk to a small cove within 20 mins for some cold water swimming, however the walk back up is not for the less agile. We had the best family holiday and would definitely come back again.

One of the best cottages I have stayed in . Emma was so so helpful to ensure that our stay was exceptional. 10 family members using 2 of the cottages worked really well. The cottages are isolated sitting amongst beautiful countryside with views of the sea from the dog paddock.  The cottages are modern, clean and comfortable and the extra little touches that are provided are amazing – homemade dog treats, dog tags with phone number of Cwm Connell, fabulous coffee and homemade bread. Honey butter to die for!  The fully enclosed dog paddock was amazing to run the dogs and sit and watch the sunsets.  All in all a wonderful week.

Just a magical place. Beautiful boutique standard cottages in a fabulous setting. Great hosts, fantastic holiday. Would highly recommend. Spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Truly comfortable and really enjoyable.

We stayed here for a week in October half term with kids and dogs. Couldn’t have been better. Our hosts Alex and Emma were very kind and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed on arrival and all through our stay. We stayed in one of the newly-renovated cottages which has been done to an incredibly high standard with superb attention to detail. And the beds are incredibly comfortable.  There are great walks from the cottages and lovely beaches not far away. As other guests have said “dog-friendly” doesn’t adequately express how welcome our furry friends are. The only place they aren’t allowed is the Hot tub!  Highly recommended and we will definitely go again.

This is our second visit and it has been renovated to an even higher standard. Set in a fab location for exploring the area with a gorgeous walk from the cottage door down to Ceibwr bay. Myself and husband thoroughly enjoyed our break and will be returning as soon as we can – it feel’s like our ‘happy place’.

This was our second time staying here and the cottage we stayed in this time had just been renovated to an exceptional standard, with a superb wet room and a huge super king double bed. Such a warm welcome from Alex and Emma, for us and our four legged friends. Perfect!
