I feel the need to do a separate review from our dog Freda, she would like to say this is doggy heaven, with treats on arrival, towels to dry her and a massive paddock for her to explore and do zoomies 🐾 The whole area is so dog friendly it’s brilliant, loads of eating places offer dogs a warm invitation

Another fabulous week away at these fantastic cottages. The new owners have upgraded the cottages to even better standards. The dogs are truly welcome and have had the best time. The 4 acre dog padock has the most glorious views of the sea worth sitting on the seat in the field even without the dogs. Already looking to book again next year we book 3 of the 6 cottages out to take family with us.

A truly dog friendly holiday cottage. No we don’t just mean they allow dogs. From the complimentary dog treats to the additional dog towels and blankets in the cottage when we arrived, everything was as easy is it could be. The secure dog paddock was perfect for that early morning toilet trip and the suggested walks made it really easy to get out and explore.

The closest beach is dog friendly so the whole family can swim. Each cottage has a secure patio so you can eat outside without having to police your dog and worry they might escape. We did some lovely walks along the Pembrokeshire Coastal path and were lucky enough to see dolphins and seals. If you’re into star gazing on a clear night the sky is incredible.

Absolutely the most stunning location: Poppit Sands & Newport Sands just 10 minute drive & just the best beaches we have visited ; our cottage was just perfect for our needs , my 87 year old mom was with us & feels the cold , but we had a fabulous log fire that kept her cosy on the evening , we will return so that says it all, such a peaceful location with easy access to Aldi & Tesco 15 min drive away for your essentials but also great choice eating out too.

What a wonderful holiday we have just had at Cwm Connell! We stayed in the newly renovated Bron Y Felin and WOW, what a cottage! Immaculately finished to a very high standard, such a luxury feel to a country cottage. Top of the range appliances which made cooking a doddle and not a chore! Beautiful bathrooms, extra comfy beds and many small touches that just made it a dream!

What an incredible week we’ve just had, at what I can only describe as an idyllic setting in one of the most comfortable cottages I’ve ever stayed in. Super stylish, in teal blues making it a beyond relaxing space with all the home comforts you could need. Beds exceptionally comfortable and each cottage, although adjoined, are very private. The hosts are super friendly and dogs are really made to feel at home here. We’re definitely coming back next year!

We stayed in the newly refurbished Ty Twt for a week. The renovations are absolutely first class. All the fixtures, fittings, kitchen ware and appliances are excellent quality. Loved the shower. No mismatched mugs or dodgy plumbing in this place! Definitely had the feeling of luxury about it. The owners have done a fantastic job with updating the accommodation.

Emma, the host, is warm, personable and kind ensuring all needs are satisfied. She was open to hear of any improvements required. We couldn’t think of any! Clear, welcoming communication from the point of booking.

The word ‘luxury’ is often overused when describing holiday accommodation in much the same way as ‘artisan’ sometimes is when applied to food products. The new owners of Cwm Connell, Emma & Alex, described the work undertaken on the cottages as a ‘refresh’, which is a complete understatement. Our cottage, which we had stayed in previously, has had new flooring, heating, lighting, appliances and furniture including super-king beds with top quality mattresses. The decor has been enhanced by coordinated tiles, blinds and throws and the framed prints have been thoughtfully chosen.

If you like wild and windy walks amid stunning seaside landscapes, with mainly birds and sheep for company, and the occasional prehistoric archeology, this is the place for you. It’s also a very comfortable place to stay, whatever the weather – with newly restored stone cottages furnished with wood burning stoves and modern kitchen appliances. We stayed in early July for a family reunion taking over several cottages and sharing meals and it couldn’t have been lovelier. Good local food and restaurants are not far, though the country lanes take some getting used to for city drivers. Good place to get away from the shrill clamour of phone and email and just marinate in blissful isolation.

I’ve stayed here a couple of times now and every time has been amazing! The cottages are clean, spacious and comfortable and the hosts are very friendly and attentive. It’s the perfect place for a countryside get away, and I really appreciated being able to slow down and spend a week walking, going to the beach and spending evenings in the hot tub and sauna. They have also been renovating the cottages, and I’ve seen the lovely improvements from my first stay to my second!
